Perceptions vs. Reality
Objective: "recognize and value the diversity of religions in America"
This is a blended learning activity
In class: Initial perceptions:
- Students volunteer answers to question about what religions there are in America, including different Christian denominations. Instructor creates list on board.
- Worksheet is distributed for students to take note of their initial perceptions of
religious diversity in America. (completed worksheet is collected, to be
returned the next week)
- Instructor displays demographic information from online resources

- Complete Self-test
("lesson 3") (be sure to print your completed test before moving on to the "test self-check")
- Reflect on the questions you got wrong: do you understand why the correct answer is what it is? Do you understand where you went wrong in your thinking?
In Class:
- Students submit completed self-test with reflections
- Sharing of issues with the test questions
- Students revise perceptions on the worksheet from previous week
