Taoism
The way of harmony with nature

You may be familiar with sayings such as...

"A journey of 1000 miles starts with one step." (TTC 64)

"He who knows does not speak, he who speaks does not know." (TTC 56)

These originate with Taoism.

Taoism seeks harmony in one’s life through passive non-resistance to the natural forces of life (Chi). A "go with the flow" approach to living.

Philosophical Taoism has been popularized in the west through such books as The Tao of Pooh and The Te of Piglet by Benjamin Hoff.

But Taoism also has a religious side to it which is rare to find anywhere outside of Taiwan these days.

Is it Taoism or Daoism?
