Concluding Reflections

In approximately 500 words, please provide your personal reflections on what you have learned from the course - overall impressions on religion in general and the eastern religions in particular. Specifically discuss…

  • What stands out for you as the most important, valuable, surprising and/or interesting things you learned in this course? (Explain why you find these things important, valuable, surprising, etc.)

  • What material or topics would you like to continue to explore in more depth and why?

  • How has your learning here changed your understanding of and perspective on religion?

  • What new or remaining questions do you have about religion and/or eastern religions in particular and how might you go about addressing these questions? (i.e. where do you go from here with regard to further study or exploration of religion?)

Grading based on:

  • Focus: address all question prompts noted above

  • Personal in nature (write about your own thoughts, avoid mere summary of factual information)

  • Depth of thought (avoid superficial/simplistic responses)

  • Attitude: Reflect a more positive rather than negative perspective

  • Composition: problems that are chronic or otherwise impede comprehension (-10%)

  • Length: approximately 500 words (grade penalty for every 10% [50 words] below target)
