Jainism |
|
Jainism can be described as world denying but life affirming. The world it denies is material but life is spirit.
Contemporary Jainism can trace its roots back to India over 2500 years ago but claims a much older heritage going back countless thousands of years into Indian pre-history. There are only about 6 million Jains in the world today, mostly in pockets in north and south India. There are less than 100,000 Jains in the USA (though that is second only to India!).
