Windows Snipping Tool |
Motivating questions:
I often take screen shots of items from one window or program to insert in another program. For example, I carry out calculations or created graphs in math software, and then paste the output in Microsoft One Note. Then, I can annotate the image with digital inking or added comments.
Various screen shot or screen capture tools are available, but The
Windows Snipping Tool is already available on your PC, if you can find it.
1) click on the Snipping Tool icon. 2) Click "New" on the window that opens 3) Your screen will become dim. 4) With your cursor, trace out a box of what you want to snip. 5) Switch to the target of the snip. 6) Paste in the desired location.
Follow the above instructions. There are step-by-step instructions in the
Snipping Tool window.
You can find the Windows Snipping Tool in the Accessories folder. Right click on the program and choose "pin to taskbar." Then, you will have the tool available while performing any task. In Windows 8, enter Snipping Tool in the Search Window. When you are brought to the Snipping Tool program, pin it to the taskbar.
This is free, with Windows 7 and 8. |
